Having trouble with your Promethean Board?

Try these Troubleshooting tips!!!

First is everything plugged in? Look at this list to see…

· Power cords for board and laptop (check power strips if you have one)
· USB cable (from board to laptop)
· Sound cord (plug into headphone jack on your laptop)
· 16 pin cable to hook projector to the laptop
· Network cable plugged into laptop (often a good idea even with wireless)

Problem: No sound
· Is the button on the side green? (this works for the black boards not the older white) Red light means sound is off.
· Have you turned the volume up on your laptop?
· Check the volume of the white box mounted under the board to see that it is on.

Problem: Pen will not work
· Is your computer recognizing the board? If you see this symbol in the system tray the answer is no. Unplug the USB cable and re-plug it in. If the red X does not go away reboot the computer.
· Check to see if you have no show or freeze activated

Problem: Computer software is not responding
· Close out the program and re-open
· Restart machine if it continues to happen

Problem: You cannot get on the internet
· Did you change the LAN settings when you brought it from home. Go to IE > tools > connections > LAN settings > make sure the proxy is checked.
· Is the wireless working? (this can be seen in the system tray at the bottom of the screen) If not try plugging into the network.

Problem: Nothing is showing on the board
· Toggle your laptop by pressing function and F7 or F8 (depending on the laptop)
· Check to be sure your projector is turned on
· Use the remote to make sure that you are not in no show mode

Go through these steps and if the problem is not solved call me!
